SIUE Catering Take-Out Policies & Guidelines
SIUE Catering take-out service is designed for convenient pickup of pre-prepared, cold menu items. By placing a take-out order, clients agree to the following terms and conditions.
Ordering Deadlines & Availability
- Take-out orders must be placed no later than five (5) business days prior to the event date.
- Changes to take-out orders are not permitted after the five (5) business day deadline.
- Orders are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding University holidays.
- All take-out orders are subject to availability and operational capacity.
Cancellations
- Cancellations must be made no later than three (3) business days prior to the scheduled pickup date.
- Cancellations made fewer than three (3) business days prior to pickup will incur a 50% cancellation fee, based on the total order amount.
Pickup Location & Timing
- Take-out orders must be picked up from the Event Services Office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Orders must be picked up at the scheduled pickup time.
- Orders not picked up by closing time may be discarded.
- Refunds will not be issued for orders that are not picked up.
- Delivery is not available for take-out orders.
Serviceware & Packaging
- Disposable serviceware is not included with take-out orders.
- Disposable items may be added for an additional fee upon request.
- No service equipment, chafers, or serving utensils are included with take-out orders.
Food Safety, Temperature & Transport Responsibility
- All take-out menu items are provided as cold food only.
- Responsibility for food safety transfers to the client at the time of pickup.
- The client is responsible for proper storage, handling, and transport of food prior to the start of their event.
- Per Health Department guidelines, perishable food must be discarded within four (4) hours of being removed from temperature control.
- SIUE Catering is not responsible for food quality, temperature, or safety after pickup.
Payment
- Payment is due no later than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled pickup date for clients not using interdepartmental budget purpose numbers.
- Orders may be canceled if payment is not received by the deadline.
- A 7.6% sales tax will be applied to all orders for organizations that are not tax exempt. Proof of tax-exempt status must be provided at the time the order is placed.
Dietary Restrictions & Allergens
- Requests for dietary accommodations must be submitted at the time the order is placed.
- SIUE Catering is not a gluten-free facility. While gluten-sensitive options may be available, cross-contact may occur, and we cannot guarantee that any item is completely gluten-free.
- Due to shared equipment and preparation areas, SIUE Catering cannot guarantee that food will be free from allergens.
- It is the client’s responsibility to communicate dietary and allergen information to their guests.
Right to Refuse or Modify Orders
- SIUE Catering reserves the right to refuse or modify take-out orders based on availability, volume, staffing, or operational limitations.
- Menu items are subject to availability and may be substituted if necessary to maintain product quality.
